Second Time Treasures Has a New Blog Come Visit Me

Hello, and Welcome to all who are visiting, and have landed on my Second Time Treasures Page for LilacsNDreams. Glad to have you stopping by, and greatful for you to see this announcement as well too. I have MOVED! That's right...due to some circumstances, and a very long story....I have started a new blog on Monday, May7th. Didn't want to take a chance, and couldn't sit around waiting to see if things would be in my favor to reinstate this blog, or not. So, I jumped in, and went with it. 

Really simple to get to the new place by clicking on LilacsNDreams it will take you over, or you can also click on LilacsNDreams2.blogspot.com  OR  thriftstorejunkies2.blogspot.com  to come on over, and see everything there. There have been some minor changes, but most things are pretty much the same as before. Trying to make it feel like home coming into it.  Oh, yeah....if you click on one of the tabs at the top you will also land over on the new blog too.....hope I did it all right:) Not very computer literate, and doing the best I can to get through all of it:)

I apologize for any inconvenience this may have been to anyone, and am really sorry about this. Believe me, it is not something that was in my plans to do either. But, it is done, and I am moving ahead, and hope to see you all there as well too.

Welcome to Second Time Treasures Blog and Ebay too

Hello everyone, and Welcome to Second Time Treasures! So sorry to have nothing to show...yet. I have projects around me that need to be finished. Just having a hard time with finding the time to complete some things when I am dealing with this house, priming rooms to be painted, contractors, and a landlord that might not like me soon. Sorry to say, but some days I am by myself doing it all....no pitty please. Just an explanation as to why things do take me a bit longer sometimes:)

Weather is getting beautiful out!! Horrid wind past couple of days, but I guess that is better than having snow too, right?:) Sorry to say I have not had much time with the wonderful weather changes to get out, and do some thrifting. But, have worked with customers on a sale here and there with different venues I sell with. That is always fun:) And...I did open another account with Ebay naming that one Second Time Treasures as well. LilacsNDreams will be my main account since I have had that since 2004, I have other venues I sell at with that same name, but thought maybe another account would help me a bit with working on some things with my inventory too. 

I am still trying to work on getting things ready to move to another state. I have gone through boxes, and donated, added some things for sale, and in the community either given some things away, or selling a few of our bigger things too. I have been going through boxes again...slowly....for the second time, changing my mind, and donating more things too. Heck, when I get to where we're going it will be a new area, new thrift stores, new flea markets, and more fun in getting things back into my collections. Some things I can replace, and have fun with it too...right?:)

Welcome to Second Time Treasures Blog Site page everyone. Glad to have to you visiting with me! Yesterday I kind of got out of my slump of those darn old winter blues you can get. Don't take me wrong, we have had some really gorgeous weather, but some of it has to do with contractors that come and go here too. My house is so disorderly right now, and if I have anything to work on, due to limited spacing from boxes and containers all over, I have to use the kitchen counter tops a little bit to work. Ugh! But, so far been working ok for me.

I have a black cloche stand I hope to soon have finished. I need to add a little bit of white ribbon/lace to cover up a few bubbles that resulted from the mod podge sealer spray I used. I guess it was thicker than I thought, and it came back to haunt me a little bit. So sad as the piece was looking really good with the music paper I also added to it. Well, sometimes these things happen, and we have to be able to adjust with it, and fix it. Along with this I have 3 saucer plates that I have glued to glass candle holders. I am now in the process of adding some lace around the rims of the saucers....a yummy blue lace I found that matches with the blue rim the saucers have, and looks fab with the pinkish flowers in the center too. I also need to add a final coat of mod podge sealer to a white based glass cloche I am finishing up on too. I hope to have pictures soon to show you what projects have been done so far. 

I am anxious to get things done, and get them listed in my stores too. I hope others will like the work I have been doing so far. Well, working on keeping this a bit shorter today. Picnik Announces Closing Petitions to Stop Google

Picnik Announces Closing in April, and Petitions to Stop Google are being done.

Hello, and Welcome to Second Time Treasures! Always a pleasure to have you visit. Make sure you say Hi before leaving so that I can too visit with you. 

If some of you use Picnik Photo Editing you maybe have seen the announcement already. They are scheduled to close on April 19, 2012. Sad to hear, sad to read, and so very sad to think of this. I generally used Picnik to edit photos for my blog, and blog pages, for editing my photos to size and any adjustments for my listings with my stores, and now what will I do? They are announcing you can go to Google Plus to do your editing which like many I assume they are referring tot Picasa there. Sorry, I cannot get the tools and ease there as I get with Picnik. Many other programs are great, but they also take time to learn, time to understand, and at many times are confusing. With Picnik there is no sign in, it is free with the tools allowed which is not bad for free, and then they have the premium membership which allows more tools. I know of different photographers who also use this program, and have so enjoyed it as well. I love Google Plus, but feel like this is being forced a little bit with Google taking over Picnik, and then announcing to use Google Plus. Hmm....

Below I will be showing a copy of the email I received. Please, read it to better understand, and would also appreciate you continuing on to sign the petition to try to stop this procedure too. I stopped by to leave a short note to everyone visiting, and apologize for any inconvenience you might have experienced during my time of working on my blog, and pages. I have been adding, removing, rearranging, and so on with all of it. Trying to find a place I am comfortable with, and also to do what my plan was the first time. After trial, and error I really have gotten to a place I am comfortable with the pages I have made, added, and been working on. Trying to have a variety of things to do, read, and etc. So, My Blog Pages to Visit that was on the right side bar was removed, and above under my banner you will see the tabs for my blog pages I now have.

Above you will notice pictures for some items I have done so far. Clicking the titles will take you directly to the pages they are on with more pictures, and details. These along with others can be viewed in my Artfire Store. I have more pieces at home to be working on like a wooden box I painted that has 3 small drawers, and some other items I will be painting as well. I have done quite a bit with different glass pieces, and some plates and saucers. I have more ideas, things sitting here to be worked with, some papers to sort through to use, need to get some more hodge podge, and all of that fun stuff.

I started selling online in 2004, and my start was with Ebay. Since then I have moved onto other venues, have learned some things along the way, enjoy selling my vintage collectibles as they are a passion of mine. But, I felt as though something was missing. Like I needed more, or there was more I was suppose to do. 

I would spend time reading things on the internet, looking at all the wonderful creations of others, thinking, imagining, smiling, and thoughts of  "I can do that, or....I use to do that....or I did something like that once". Memories of being on grandparents' farm, playing in the empty hen houses, painting, putting pictures on the glass of windows, sewing with grandmother, and creating things then. The thoughts of childhood, the creations then, thought I grew out of it, and who would have guessed there would be a market for it today. So, this brings out "The Kid in Me", and I am enjoying it.
