Welcome to Second Time Treasures Blog and Ebay too

Hello everyone, and Welcome to Second Time Treasures! So sorry to have nothing to show...yet. I have projects around me that need to be finished. Just having a hard time with finding the time to complete some things when I am dealing with this house, priming rooms to be painted, contractors, and a landlord that might not like me soon. Sorry to say, but some days I am by myself doing it all....no pitty please. Just an explanation as to why things do take me a bit longer sometimes:)

Weather is getting beautiful out!! Horrid wind past couple of days, but I guess that is better than having snow too, right?:) Sorry to say I have not had much time with the wonderful weather changes to get out, and do some thrifting. But, have worked with customers on a sale here and there with different venues I sell with. That is always fun:) And...I did open another account with Ebay naming that one Second Time Treasures as well. LilacsNDreams will be my main account since I have had that since 2004, I have other venues I sell at with that same name, but thought maybe another account would help me a bit with working on some things with my inventory too.

I am still trying to work on getting things ready to move to another state. I have gone through boxes, and donated, added some things for sale, and in the community either given some things away, or selling a few of our bigger things too. I have been going through boxes again...slowly....for the second time, changing my mind, and donating more things too. Heck, when I get to where we're going it will be a new area, new thrift stores, new flea markets, and more fun in getting things back into my collections. Some things I can replace, and have fun with it too...right?:)

Sorry, not really much news to add to this page of my blog, but sure do appreciate you visiting with Second Time Treasures today! Thanks for stopping by everyone, and see you again soon!:) Take care.....

Second Time Treasures for Vintage Repurposed Upcycled Altered

Second Time Treasures for Vintage Repurposed Upcycled Altered. Happy to see you visiting with me.

You know, I really have been in the mood to work on some pieces around here. Gluing, wish I could paint, cutting, paper, material, etc. I had some plans, and now everything has been on hold. I can't even scrapbook like I intended to this winter. House is still in a shambles with the contractors, and the plumbers coming and going. I have my craft supplies in boxes and containers, some of the materials I was thinking of using, lace is bundled up, and so on. What a bummer! I think I am going to have withdrawals from it all. The mess around here, boxes piled to make room for the workers, and not being able to do anything I had planned to work on.

I do have a piece right now that I am gluing. Smaller piece. Made some room on the kitchen counter top. Cleaned it, layed some paper towels down for the pieces to be on, and so on. I got a couple of red exterior, white intererior, square shaped little snack dishes brand new. Then, I found a small glass mini vase that I am using in the middle of gluing the 2 pieces together. Valentines Day is coming, and I think it is going to be an adorable little snack piece to offer for some candies to be served, great for holding some jewelry pieces, and would be cute with a candle in the top dish too. When I get this done I will show you a picture of it with a link to where I have it listed for sale too.

Don't you just LOVE the picture above here?! Gorgeous glass candle holders with some adorable prisms hanging, mosaic table top, and a beautiful mosaic plate too. No, was not done by me, but I did find this out in Blogland. Unfortunately, notes have been misplaced for the name that belongs to this, and I apologize for that as they deserve the credit for having some really beautiful pieces.

Better go check on my pieces glued, and drying. Hopefully I will have this done tomorrow night. I like to give everything extensive time to settle, and set with glue. One piece at a time, taking my time, making sure things settle and hold, and it makes me feel better knowing it was not all rushed. Wish me luck everyone. Thanks so much for visiting with Second Time Treasures page. Make sure to drop on by other pages with my tabs above here. Give a visit, make sure to say Hi so I can drop on by, and visit with you too!:) Have a great weekend everyone!:)

Happy New Year Blogland Bloggers and Website Visitors

Happy New Year Blogland, Bloggers, and Website Visitors!

Welcome to Second Time Treasures which is a page of LilacsNDreams. Always happy to have you visit, say Hi, and share with us all here too. So, how was Christmas for everyone? Good I hope, and I do hope that all were able to celebrate and have a joyous time too. I know some are still celebrating Christmas with all the festivities, and arrangements made to have time with all the family, and friends. Gotta love it, right?:)

Any New Years Eve plans? Not really for me here. Just pretty much at home, on the computer, and trying to get things done for the New Year coming. Organizing, gluing, finishing a few projects, and hoping to complete some so that I can show them here too.  And....to work on packing some more boxes for donations.

I am itching to go Thrifting, and Junking, but am trying to limit myself some too. I need to reduce some of the inventory at home here, and have been boxing some things for donations too. I know after the first of the year some will be cleaning their homes as well. Making room for maybe some things they received, or preparing for spring time too. Not only am I preparing for these things myself, but it looks like we are going to be moving. Out of town, and out of state. Soooo.....I have to narrow some things down a bit. First down sizing a bit which will then help with what I will be packing. Nervous for the move, but yet excited too. The weather will be better for me health wise, but also for me to work on different things more with gluing, and painting too. Also, to be in a different area to attend different flea markets, and to go junking with is exciting as well too. I am anxious for that myself:)

Wish me luck getting some projects done this weekend. Since there will be no contractors around working on the house, banging, and etc....hopefully I can get a bit done. I have a room I need to clear out for some measurements, and for new walls and a closet too. THAT will be a chore in itself! Where to put everything, I don't know yet. But, it will get done:) Take care everyone, and thanks for visiting with Second Time Treasures. Happy New Year! Have fun, enjoy, and be safe all! See you soon.

Repurposing Cake Plate Stand Tier Cake Plate

Hello, and Welcome to Second Time Treasures! Glad to see you here, and that you could stop by. So very sorry I have been MIA (missing in action) everyone! This past month has gotten away from me. We have had contractors in, and out of the house working on a room being converted to a bathroom. But, before doing all of that in full they have been working on the exterior of the house. Siding, insulation, 2 porches, new door, new window trimmings, cutting hole in wall and putting in 2 new windows, and you know.....just things like that.

Unfortunately, my house has been in a shambles, and not able to do much of anything. My working area is disorganized, wall hangings are on the floors and tables while they are pounding away outside, and things like that. I have been itching to do some gluing, painting, repurposing, and some crafty things. Just kind of hard to do it, and be able to enjoy it with everything happening.

I did get some more cake plates, and a 2 tier plate made. The 2 tier plate, and the 1 cake plate stand were all made with a matching plate, and glass candle holders. Saturday night I came home with some ribbon I had found to tie a bow around the base of the cake plate. I love the rose colors, and the greens in the bow. Adds to the decor of the green plate with a light brown swirl in it for design. Yes! I will show pictures as soon as I can set my area up to do so.

Thanks again for visiting with me, and see you again soon. I wish you all well, and a HAPPY HOLIDAY SEASON too! Take care everyone.

Repurposing Upcycling Reused Reimagined Recycled

Repurposing Upcycling Reused Reimagined Recycled. Welcome to Second Time Treasures with LilacsNDreams! Always happy to see you visiting with Me!

Above you will see various pictures. I hope it is easy, or understandable to follow what I have shown here. I have tried to show you before pictures of some of the items before I repurposed them, and made them what they are now. If they have not already been listed with my LilacsNDreams Artfire store they are working there way into there. As fast as I can get things listed...it's s working progress for me this week.

I have enjoyed making some Glass Cloches, and also some Tiered Plate Stands. I enjoy making these pieces as they are versatile pieces to use with any home decor. Also, it is a greener way of reusing some pieces without them being headed to the dumpsters and garbage too. Bear with me as some of these things I am making are still new to me, but I am enjoying what I am doing too.

As soon as our home gets back into order with contractors that have been here, some of the rearranging we have had to do in order to make room for them, when I am able to find some of my supplies again, I will be back to work with more things. Winter time, colder out, and more home bound right now. I am looking forward to spending time doing all of this.

Thanks again for visiting with Second Time Treasures. Remember you are always welcome to make a comment, share something with us here, and make sure you say Hi too. Lets me know you were here to visit. Take care everyone till the next time. See you soon.

Repurposed Brown Wooden Bowls Painted Pink, Blue, White

Repurposed Brown Wood Bowls Painted Pink, Blue, White

Hello, and Welcome back to Second Time Treasures page for LilacsNDreams! Glad to have you here, and so happy you stopped to see me today too!

Sorry I have been gone for so long from this page. I honestly have been busy with different things. Life, family, busy, busy, deer accident, new car, celebrations, and so on. Just happen to be a busy time for me with many things, and I know there are many of you who can relate to this too.

Tonight I just finished painting 3 wooden bowls I had gotten when I was out thrifting. The top picture shows the bigger of the bowls that was painted, and I happen to have another one just like it a bit smaller that I threw into the bunch to paint too. So, both of those bowls were painted an Iris Blue for the bigger one, and the other one is just plain white. As for the smaller bowls I painted those a ballet slipper pink color. Aren't they just yummy! Also, you will see a round base that is for one of the cloches I have that I painted too. This one is white as you can see.

I have 3 more cloches to paint the bases to, but am fighting against weather, and the season right now. They won't take long to do, but it needs to be warm enough for me to be in the garage painting these items. It has been soooo windy here with some beautiful days! The wind finally calmed enough for me to get into the garage the past couple of days to do some painting, and did it feel good to do too!:)

I thank you all for stopping by to see me today, and hope you enjoyed the visit. If you watch my Thrift Store Junkies page you can kind of get an idea of what finds I have gotten while out thrifting, and junking. From that will determine what is offered for sale, and most of the items will be repurposed. I am getting ready to start listing some of my completed items at Artfire. I am having sooo much fun doing this, and happy that I have chosen this path with creating. Thanks again for visiting everyone, and see you again soon.

Metal Tin Tray Blue Design Chalkboard Repurposed

Metal Tin Tray Blue Design was found with other trays with different colors, and design. I tried this one as my first project for making a chalkboard on it. This is the before picture.

Here is the after picture of the repurposed tray I did as a chalkboard. I had gone to 2 different stores that did not have the chalkboard spray I was wanting. Soooo, I regretfully got the pain on chalkboard, which would have not been bad if I had been more experienced with it. I used a sponge applicator, and applied the chalkboard paint. Unfortunately, I can see the lines, marks from me going back and forth with the sponge applying this. And, I am sure it probably did this because I have applied more than needed. Now I know, but with this I wish I would have known sooner. I do have other trays I found on the same day with this one. Red one, Black one with floral design, and a really Retro one with yellow, orange, and green colors. WooHoo!

Before I attempt another chalkboard I have made sure I found a can of the spray chalkboard paint which I feel for me will work better. So, whether I make more chalkboards, or magnetic memo boards with the other trays, I will make sure to show it here as well, ok?

Thanks so much for visiting with Second Time Treasures. I enjoy your visits, and welcome all comments, and things you wish to share too. Take care everyone, and have a super weekend!:)

Cake Plate Stand Taylor Smith Taylor 2 Tier

Taylor Smith Taylor Vintage Dinner Plate, an aqua green salad plate, and 2 glass candle holders in a before picture of the repurposed item

Vintage Taylor Smith Taylor Dinner Plate, Aqua Green Salad Plate, 2 glass candle holders, and a drinking glass with some rose decals around the glass

Before Picture of items used again. Little bit closer view of the items seeing a little more details

Cake Plate Stand 2 Tier Taylor Smith Taylor. This is a completed picture of this cake plate stand I have done. Many possibilities for this piece. Will be listed with my Artfire Store soon. Any questions, please contact me.

Top view of this Cake Plate Stand that is a 2 tier serving stand. The dinner plate has an aqua green color, pink rose in center, and is square like in shape. The salad plate is an aqua green colored plate. The drinking cup is glass with rose decals around it. 2 glass candle holders were used to attach the plates.
Another completed view of this 2 tier stand that was repurposed, and restyled by me. The glass was not attached so it could also be set to the side for another use while serving maybe some fruit, cake, muffins, cookies, organizer for your counter top, add to the decor of your bathroom with rolled cloths, and soaps.

I truly enjoy making these cake plate stands as there are sooo many possibilities for their use. They are a versatile piece to fit with many rooms in your home. Even if you wanted to change the decor with one room, this could nicely fit into another room as well. This has not been listed for sale yet, but will soon be showing in my Artfire Store. Any questions, you are welcome to contact me. Thanks so much for visiting with me, and wishing all of you a wonderful weekend. Happy Thrifting, Repurposing, Restyling, Creating, Imagining, and all the above. Take care.

Mikasa Cake Plate Stand 3 Tier Organizer Serving

Mikasa Cake or Plate Stand 3 Tier Organizer Serving

Welcome to LilacsNDreams Second Time Treasures, and glad to have you here!:) Below you will see 3 pictures for another project I have completed, and was finally able to get it pictured too. This is my first 3 tier plate stand I have made. I used a Mikasa Dinner Plate, a Mikasa Saucer, a Yellow Salad Plate, and 2 matching glass candle holders. All of these pieces have been attached with an industrial glue. I was fortunate that all the plates look like new yet. Even though the Mikasa plate are vintage, they still look very new and unused. The 2 glass candle holders are in excellent condition too. With the Mikasa plates I have tried selling them with 3 different market places for an extensive amount of time with no success. I get views for them, but they have never been bought. So, I figured it has been long enough trying this, and decided to repurpose them.

Mikasa Dinner plate, Mikasa Saucer, Yellow Alco plate, and 2 glass candle holders. The before picture prior to the repurposing process of the finished product.

Mikasa Cake Plate Stand 3 Tier Organizer Serving is a picture of the finished, or completed product. This is a side view of this adorable piece that looks like new, and much less in cost than what Mikasa sells their 3 tier plate stands for.

Mikasa Cake Plate Stand 3 Tier Organizer Serving is a picture of the completed product, and is a slightly top view of the piece. Wonderfully matching colors with all 3 plates. Item will be listed with my Artfire Store soon. Just a prior peek to what I have completed, and what to expect.

Thanks so much for visiting with Second Time Treasures, and hope you are enjoying your visits. Always welcome to comment, and share with all of us here too. Take care, and have a super week everyone!:)

Repurposed Plates Candle Holders Plate Stands

Repurposed Plates, Plate Stands, Cake Plates, Candle Holders.

Welcome to LilacsNDreams Second Time Treasures, and happy to have you with us tonight. I have been trying to stay busy with working on things. Some items that have not sold for a very very long time have been either getting donated, or some I have pulled to the side to repurpose them too.

Tonight I will  share a couple of before, and after projects I have completed. I have another one that is setting for the night drying before I do more gluing, and of course other pieces sitting here to be worked with too.

Anyway, hope you enjoy the pieces. Always welcome to comment, and share with all of us too.

Blue and White plate with a white ceramic candle holder. The before picture
Blue and White Plate Stand with many possibilities. Candle holder, Jewelry holder, holder for your glasses, great adorning the bathroom with some decorative soaps, some rolled cloths, great in the craft room with the slightly raised button design around the rim of the plate. Isn't it fun?

Here is a Green Plate, and a Candle Holder that has a fruity design around the middle and base of it. Colorful, and fun!:)

Green Plate Stand Fruity Pedestal is the finished product with many possibilities for this. The plate looks like a darker green than what it is in this picture. The above picture is more accurate of the coloring of the plate. This would look fabulous in the kitchen with some fruits on it, maybe hold your scrubby pads there, use it for a candle holder, use it to serve some smaller food items with, and the possibilities are endless with these pieces!

The items have not been listed for sale with my store as of yet. They soon will be, and I will notify you all of such. I am still working on growing my inventory a bit before the season starts after school has started. I enjoy showing you what I am accomplishing, and I enjoy repurposing different treasures around the home too. Any questions please ask. Thanks for visiting, and for viewing other projects I have done. Take care.

Repurposed Glass Bowl, Mikasa Plates, Home Decor, Tier Plate

Kind of a before picture. Glass bowl with a ruffled rim, and a glass candle holder made from homco.

Glass Compote Candle Holder is a completed project with the glass bowl, and the attached candle holder. I used a wide lace, and weaved a mauve colored ribbon through the top tying it in front with a small bow. Gives it a little more character with the lace skirt. This skirt could also be removed, and maybe used on a small mini lamp shade too.

The 2 plates are Mikasa, have not sold with 2-3 different venues they had been listed with. Will not throw them, don't want to give them away, so I repurposed them into a tier plate. Also, used a salt shaker that matches with speckled background, but different brand. Then, found a yellow ceramic bowl that matches the flowers.

Mikasa Tiered Serving Plate has the two plates attached with the salt shaker in the center that was glued. On top the yellow bowl was left loose for those wanting to remove it, and set to side for use.

When I glue things I like to let them set for 24-48 hours depending on the size, and weight of the item. Sometimes a little longer if I feel it needs to set longer. Once that drying part is done I will then start repurposing to ways I invision, or can imagine it. Prior to all pieces being used they have been mildly washed, and dried making cleaner surfaces for better sealing of glues, and such used. I sometimes wonder what took me so long to get to this point, and why did I not do these things sooner. I enjoy what I am doing. It is fun, enjoyable, feeling of accomplishment, making one-of-kind items not found in stores, and am happy to offer for those to enjoy with their homes.

Items that have been shown through out here have either been listed with my Artfire Store for sale, or most of them I am showing to you have not yet been listed, and are preparations for fall inventory to be listed soon. Thanks so much for visiting LilacsNDreams Second Time Treasures. I enjoy the visits, comments, the sharing, and suggestions by others as well. Have a wonderful creative weekend everyone!:)

Glass Cloche Repurposed From Thrift Store Finds

Glass Cloche Repurposed From Thrift Store Finds. Welcome to LilacsNDreams Second Time Treasures! Happy to have you here viewing, and remember you are welcome to share, and comment with my postings too. Would be glad to have you share with all of us.

This item came from a Thrift Store find on Friday from a Missions Place I like to visit, and donate to also. I had gotten another glass piece I was going to use for the knob, but had this one on hand, and it seem to fit the size and character of this piece a little bit more. So, this is how it looked before I repurposed it.

Here is how the item looks completed from repurposing with different pieces. I glued the glass piece on top of this glass vase giving it a knob, and making this a glass cloche. I let this sit for at least 48 hours to make sure the glue dried, and cured. During that time I went through other pieces I have around the home...my stash:) I found this Anchor Hocking Green Vase that is a small mini size. I then took a bundle of pink flowers I had, and cut some of the stems away from it to make this small bouquet to put inside the Green Vase by Anchor Hocking. This is the completed product that I will be offering for sale in my store at Artfire. Before I list any products for my Artfire Store I am working on completing a few products to add to the inventory along with some other vintage pieces I also have to be added with the vintage inventory.

Thanks so much for visiting with Second Time Treasures today. Was glad to have you, and to be able to share with you. I have another project I started tonight. I have glued 1 piece, and that will have to sit to dry completely. I will then be attaching that piece to another, adding a small bowl to it that I will leave loose, and not glue. I am making a tier plate from a matching plate, and saucer. I have the before picture, and soon will have a completed picture for you with this also. Hopefully it will be completed within a couple of days.

Thanks again everyone, and take care. Till the next time.
"Seeing Beyond What it is. . . . to What it Can Be!:)
