Repurposed Glass Bowl, Mikasa Plates, Home Decor, Tier Plate

Kind of a before picture. Glass bowl with a ruffled rim, and a glass candle holder made from homco.

Glass Compote Candle Holder is a completed project with the glass bowl, and the attached candle holder. I used a wide lace, and weaved a mauve colored ribbon through the top tying it in front with a small bow. Gives it a little more character with the lace skirt. This skirt could also be removed, and maybe used on a small mini lamp shade too.

The 2 plates are Mikasa, have not sold with 2-3 different venues they had been listed with. Will not throw them, don't want to give them away, so I repurposed them into a tier plate. Also, used a salt shaker that matches with speckled background, but different brand. Then, found a yellow ceramic bowl that matches the flowers.

Mikasa Tiered Serving Plate has the two plates attached with the salt shaker in the center that was glued. On top the yellow bowl was left loose for those wanting to remove it, and set to side for use.

When I glue things I like to let them set for 24-48 hours depending on the size, and weight of the item. Sometimes a little longer if I feel it needs to set longer. Once that drying part is done I will then start repurposing to ways I invision, or can imagine it. Prior to all pieces being used they have been mildly washed, and dried making cleaner surfaces for better sealing of glues, and such used. I sometimes wonder what took me so long to get to this point, and why did I not do these things sooner. I enjoy what I am doing. It is fun, enjoyable, feeling of accomplishment, making one-of-kind items not found in stores, and am happy to offer for those to enjoy with their homes.

Items that have been shown through out here have either been listed with my Artfire Store for sale, or most of them I am showing to you have not yet been listed, and are preparations for fall inventory to be listed soon. Thanks so much for visiting LilacsNDreams Second Time Treasures. I enjoy the visits, comments, the sharing, and suggestions by others as well. Have a wonderful creative weekend everyone!:)

Glass Cloche Repurposed From Thrift Store Finds

Glass Cloche Repurposed From Thrift Store Finds. Welcome to LilacsNDreams Second Time Treasures! Happy to have you here viewing, and remember you are welcome to share, and comment with my postings too. Would be glad to have you share with all of us.

This item came from a Thrift Store find on Friday from a Missions Place I like to visit, and donate to also. I had gotten another glass piece I was going to use for the knob, but had this one on hand, and it seem to fit the size and character of this piece a little bit more. So, this is how it looked before I repurposed it.

Here is how the item looks completed from repurposing with different pieces. I glued the glass piece on top of this glass vase giving it a knob, and making this a glass cloche. I let this sit for at least 48 hours to make sure the glue dried, and cured. During that time I went through other pieces I have around the home...my stash:) I found this Anchor Hocking Green Vase that is a small mini size. I then took a bundle of pink flowers I had, and cut some of the stems away from it to make this small bouquet to put inside the Green Vase by Anchor Hocking. This is the completed product that I will be offering for sale in my store at Artfire. Before I list any products for my Artfire Store I am working on completing a few products to add to the inventory along with some other vintage pieces I also have to be added with the vintage inventory.

Thanks so much for visiting with Second Time Treasures today. Was glad to have you, and to be able to share with you. I have another project I started tonight. I have glued 1 piece, and that will have to sit to dry completely. I will then be attaching that piece to another, adding a small bowl to it that I will leave loose, and not glue. I am making a tier plate from a matching plate, and saucer. I have the before picture, and soon will have a completed picture for you with this also. Hopefully it will be completed within a couple of days.

Thanks again everyone, and take care. Till the next time.

Repurposed Glass Cloches at LilacsNDreams Second Time Treasures

Here is the glass cloche seen below with a different plate I have not added to it, and it can be seen listed with my Artfire Store

Now, from thrifting on Friday, these are the pieces I am putting together to make a glass cloche. This is a glass vase, and the smaller piece showing I have attached for the knob on top of this piece making the cloche. When I have the finished product I will picture it for ya'll to see. I got some other ideas to go with it yet too. Have to try them out, play a bit first.

LilacsNDreams Second Time Treasures Before and After

Welcome to LilacsNDreams Second Time Treasures. Hope you will enjoy your visit. I am gonna show you just a few pictures to a couple of items I have repurposed, and they are listed for sale with my store at Artfire too. As time goes along you will see that I tend to favor glassware items a little bit more. I believe it is out of habit, not sure, but I enjoy what I do:)

My first attempt at making a glass cloche with different pieces. I started with a glass bowl I found.

I then found this little ceramic piece that I repurposed, and decorated to make the handle, or knob for the top of the glass cloche.

This is a final of what is being offered for sale at Artfire. Only difference is the plate is being changed under it, and I have to take new pictures to show this at my Artfire Store. The knob had some white satin lace added around it. I then added soft pink bows to that. The center piece is a ceramic piece with doves, and the colored flowers in the pot area were added by me. This will all come together with the plate offered in the sale.

With this project I used a plate, and a glass chandelier cover with some etch work in the glass. Some blue ribbon, pink flowers, and a glass votive not pictured is included to make this piece a.........

One-of-a-kind candle holder to adorn the home with any room in the home too. This item can be found with my Artfire Store for sale.

Hope you enjoyed your visit with Second Time Treasures page today. Keep in mind you are always welcome to leave comments, and share things with any of LilacsNDreams Blog pages too. Thanks for visiting, and have a wonderful evening. Best of luck with your new week everyone. Take care.

Welcome to LilacsNDreams Second Time Treasures Everyone

Welcome to LilacsNDreams Second Time Treasures! Glad to see you here visiting with all of us.

I am getting itchy to be working on some things. I have some plates, and saucers sitting here that have not sold, and so I pulled a few out tonight to work with them. I have pieces sitting out, but not sure what to do with them. Or, maybe, I need to go thrifting to find some more glass pieces to work with to put some of this together. I was thinking of making the 2 tier serving plates. Hey, I have matching pieces, so why not, right? The plates I have are Mikasa, have not sold at any sight I have put them to, they look like new, but was thinking of repurposing them since they are not selling. Finding something to create with them that might appeal to others as well. If I would get the project done, I would surely share with everyone here what I have done:)

By the way, I belong to a social network group called Treasure Seekers Unite that has sellers, buyers, collectors, and such for members. New site, new platform, and membership is growing. In this network community I was able to start a group called Re-Treasure for those who repurpose, upcycle, reuse, create, and you know what I mean. If you get a chance, stop by to check it out. Join the community, and make sure to join my group as well so that we can share things there, and get ideas from everyone there as well.

Hope this finds everyone enjoying their morning, day, evening, and that it was all good. Best of luck to all of you, and happy crafting and creating! See Ya!:)

Welcome to LilacsNDreams Second Time Treasures Blog

Welcome to LilacsNDreams Second Time Treasures blog, and happy to have you here. Glad you found me, and are coming by for a visit.

I wanted to stop by, and just show you about 3 more pictures of items I have completed with repurposing and upcycling, and hope to be listing to my Artfire Store soon too. I have the pictures done for listing, items weighed, now I just need to do it:)

This is a simple white ceramic candle holder that was attached to a ceramic small bowl, or cup. I have to look through my ribbons, but think I will add a blue bow to this on the neck of the pedestal yet. Very clean, and fresh looking. Pretty blue coloring too.
This started out with a candle holder. I then found the little small flower pot, did just a light touch up like with some gold like paint, and in the center of the pot I added some white and brick red like flowers. I then topped it with a glass votive holder from I had taken from a wired candle holder. A mini glass decorative cloche.

These pieces also came together with a green plate, a darker green candle holder with some minor coloring around the base, and neck of it. Then, the balls you see with it were my first to make using some ivory colored lace I had, and some light brown ribbing that is used for sewing with. I rolled them around styrofoam balls to add to this. Nice little piece.

Trying to do a few different things, and have more ideas for some things with items sitting here to work with. So, keep a watch out for what comes next. I will let you know when these items have been placed to my Artfire Store that I have been selling with too. Hope ya'll enjoyed this. Please know you are welcome to comment, and share with all of us here too.

Thanks for visiting LilacsNDreams Second Time Treasures, and hope you enjoyed the visit. Have a super creative weekend everyone!:)

Welcome to LilacsNDreams Second Time Treasures blog

Hello, and Welcome to LilacsNDreams Second Time Treasures page! Glad to see you here.

I stopped by to leave a short note to everyone visiting, and apologize for any inconvenience you might have experienced during my time of working on my blog, and pages. I have been adding, removing, rearranging, and so on with all of it. Trying to find a place I am comfortable with, and also to do what my plan was the first time. After trial, and error I really have gotten to a place I am comfortable with the pages I have made, added, and been working on. Trying to have a variety of things to do, read, and etc. So, My Blog Pages to Visit that was on the right side bar was removed, and above under my banner you will see the tabs for my blog pages I now have.

Again, I apologize for any inconvenience. I thank you for understanding. Any comments, things you would like to share, and etc are welcome. Please know you are welcome to do so. Thanks for visiting, and take care everyone!:)

Above you will notice pictures for some items I have done so far. Clicking the titles will take you directly to the pages they are on with more pictures, and details. These along with others can be viewed in my Artfire Store. I have more pieces at home to be working on like a wooden box I painted that has 3 small drawers, and some other items I will be painting as well. I have done quite a bit with different glass pieces, and some plates and saucers. I have more ideas, things sitting here to be worked with, some papers to sort through to use, need to get some more hodge podge, and all of that fun stuff.

I started selling online in 2004, and my start was with Ebay. Since then I have moved onto other venues, have learned some things along the way, enjoy selling my vintage collectibles as they are a passion of mine. But, I felt as though something was missing. Like I needed more, or there was more I was suppose to do.

I would spend time reading things on the internet, looking at all the wonderful creations of others, thinking, imagining, smiling, and thoughts of  "I can do that, or....I use to do that....or I did something like that once". Memories of being on grandparents' farm, playing in the empty hen houses, painting, putting pictures on the glass of windows, sewing with grandmother, and creating things then. The thoughts of childhood, the creations then, thought I grew out of it, and who would have guessed there would be a market for it today. So, this brings out "The Kid in Me", and I am enjoying it.

Thanks for visiting LilacsNDreams Second Time Treasures page, and hope you enjoyed your first visit. You are welcome to comment, and share with everyone here. Till the next time my blogging friends.
